Ever wondered why you can run the distance on the Treadmill but not on the Track? 
Here are several reasons: 

1. CLIMATE– on a treadmill, you are in a climate-controlled environment. You don’t have sunshine, rain, wind, crosswinds, or the many other effects of being outside harassing you. You’re inside, where it’s peaceful and calm.
2. THE MACHINE – The treadmill moves the ground underneath you. You can set the speed for 10 mph and fly along if you can pick your feet up fast enough. When you’re outside, you are physically driving yourself forward, the ground isn’t running underneath you. It takes more strength and endurance to stay on your feet. 
3. SURFACE – No matter how soft or graded the track is, you are running on uneven surfaces compared to a treadmill. Treadmills are flat. Tracks have small rocks, different surface features, and your stabilizers work to keep you upright, not the treadmill handles. A lot of energy is spent staying on your feet when you are outside.
4. TURNS – If you are running in circles, you slow down to make your turns. When you are running straight ahead, or in a single line, there may be other runners/ walkers you have consider and curve around. but on a treadmill, you don’t need to make turns or slow down.

Treadmills have a lot of wonderful features and has less shock and impact on the joints. Therefore; if you are having difficulty with joint pain and other ailments. A treadmill or elliptical machine  may be best. ~Take Care Friends~
